Orangeville Massage Therapy - Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage

A Swedish massage is a style of massage focusing on soft tissue muscles, ligaments, and tendons. It uses five styles of long, flowing strokes to massage including kneading, sliding, friction, rhythmic tapping, and vibration.

This type of massage is helpful in reducing pain in joint stiffness by promoting circulation throughout the body. It also decreases tension levels, improving your sleep and easing stress by relaxing tense muscles.

Orangeville Massage Therapy - Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage

This type of massage is designed to relieve severe tension in muscles of the neck, back and in the connective tissue called fascia. These techniques are meant to work the muscles below the surface of the top muscles and will invariably work out hard knots or adhesions that exist in those muscles.

Deep tissue massage is good for people who sit/stand or engage in physical activity on a regular basis.

Orangeville Massage Therapy - Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy Massage

Sciatic nerve pain is experienced by many women in late pregnancy as the uterus rests on the muscles of the pelvic floor and lower back. The pressure of the uterus spreads tension to the muscles of the upper and lower leg, causing them to swell and put pressure on nearby nerves. Massage therapy addresses the inflamed nerves by helping to release the tension on nearby muscles. Many women have experienced significant reduction in sciatic nerve pain during pregnancy through regular massage.

Pregnancy massage helps to decrease swelling/edema in the feet, legs, hands. Massage helps to stimulate soft tissues to reduce collection of fluids in swollen joints, which also improves the removal of tissue waste carried by the body’s lymph system.
